THY mulls new Chinese destinations

Turkish Airlines, national flag carrier, aims to fly to five more destinations in China, the director general of the company has said.Turkish Airline planes currently fly to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou with the airline holding 21 flights a week to China, Anatolia news agency in Beijing reported Turkish Airlines Director General Temel Kotil said.
The airline aimed to add five more cities to the list of cities in China they fly to and increase the number of weekly flights to the country to 35, Kotil said.
Headquartered in Istanbul, Turkish Airlines operates scheduled services to 150 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
The airline increased its sales revenue by 40 percent in 2011, compared to 2010, and recorded an operating profit of 339 million Turkish Liras and a net profit of 19 million liras.
