"We’re evaluating the two proposals," said Orhan Sivrikaya, THY executive vice president, in an interview in Shanghai on Wednesday. "We haven’t decided yet, but it will come soon."

Turkish Airlines aims to add overseas destinations and long-haul flights during the global economic downturn, which has cut aircraft acquisition costs. The carrier plans to add a total of 105 aircraft in the five years until 2015, Sivrikaya said.

The carrier has decided to buy 12 Boeing 777s and seven A330s to be delivered between 2010 and 2011, he said. "We’re able to receive the aircraft earlier than we’re planning to get them," said Sivrikaya.
