Three wounded in PKK car bomb attack near military station in Turkey’s Batman Two soldiers and one civilian were wounded on June 9 in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) car bomb attack near a military station in the southeastern province of Batman, Doğan News Agency has reported.

PKK militants detonated explosives in a bomb-laden vehicle while soldiers were conducting searches at the checkpoint in front of the Bekirhan Gendarmerie Station at around 12:00 p.m.

A number of ambulances and firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and the wounded three people were taken to Batman State Hospital for treatment.

The scene was cordoned off by security forces as the authorities conducted inspections.

According to preliminary reports, the militants originally targeted the military station but could not approach further due to tight security measures around the scene.

They later detonated the car at the checkpoint.

In addition, security forces also launched an operation to apprehend the militants responsible for the attack.
