Three PKK militants killed in southeastern Turkey

Three alleged members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed in clashes in the southeastern province of Tunceli yesterday.A squadron of Turkish soldiers on patrol near the Ovacık district of Tunceli encountered a group of PKK militants at around 7:00 p.m.
A firefight erupted between the two sides after the militants refused the soldiers' calls to surrender. Three militants were killed in the clashes.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
