Three injured in explosion near Turkey’s Syria border

At least three people, including a policeman, have been injured after an explosion near Turkey’s border with Syria on Feb. 13, Doğan News Agency reported.The explosion occurred near a police checkpoint at the entrance of the Suruç district of the southeastern Turkish province of Şanlıurfa.
"Explosion occured in a garbage bin near the police checkpoint. Three people, including a policeman, have been injured lightly," Şanlıurfa Gov. İzzettin Küçük told journalists.
"Many ambulances have been dispatched to the area,” DHA reported.
Suruç is just a few kilometers away from the town of Kobane on the Syrian side of the border. Syrian Kurdish forces in Kobane recently repelled a months-long assault and siege by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants.
