Three companies in lead for gas contract

Three Turkish companies are the front runners to secure a gas contract with Russia’s Gazprom for the West Pipeline, according to Reuters sources.The Aksa Group, Bosphorus Gas and the Akfel Group are on the verge of signing for the 6 billion cubic meter pipeline, the agency said.
“I think there will be a decision by [today]. Negotiations in Moscow are continuing and although there is nothing concrete at the moment, these three company names are in the lead,” said an undisclosed Reuters source.
“I know they are negotiating with these three firms,” another energy sector source said. “I think the contracts will be signed by [yesterday] and the documents will be sent to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority [EPDK] the following day.”
All 26 firms that applied to the EPDK have until today to submit any missing documents.
