Some 30 people have been detained in narcotic raids carried out in several Ankara neighborhoods, with the assistance of special operation units, on the morning of April 22.Large quantities of drugs and a number of weapons were also seized in the operation, in which a total of 55 addresses were raided in the Hıdırlıktepe, Çinçin and Yenidoğan neighborhoods. All 30 of those detained are thought to be drug dealers, police said.
The operation was launched after six months of investigations following a prosecutor’s order. The drugs seized during the operation were sent for examination by experts.
Two helicopters were also used in the raids, with Ankara Police Chief Kadri Kartal personally directing the operations from one of the helicopters.
