TAV wins tender for Saudi hangar

Turkey’s TAV has won an $800 million tender to build an airplane maintenance hangar at Jeddah Saudi Arabia’s King Abdul Aziz International Airport.TAV will join forces with Al-Rajhi Holding – Al-Habtoor Leighton for the project, which is expected to be completed within 900 days. The project will include the construction of 11 hangar and airplane maintenance buildings, a management building and covered parking lot. There could also be a second phase to the project.
“This project with our partners is very important in terms of the expansion of the country’s largest King Abdul Aziz International Airport, and will be able to provide operational capacity for the next 20 years,” said TAV Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sani Şener.
