Syrian boys rescue drowning man in Turkey A man who was seen floating motionless in Istanbul’s Bosporus Strait has been saved by three Syrian boys, who jumped into the water and helped pull the man back to the shore on June 3. 

The man, identified as Abdulkadir K., was pulled out of water after the three noticed him floating off the Beşiktaş district’s pier for Üsküdar boats early in the morning.


 

Seeing the boys struggling to pull Abdulkadir K. out of the water, police officers arrived at the scene and helped the boys get the man back on dry land. The police then called medical teams and the man was sent to Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Hospital in the Şişli district of Istanbul.

“The man was swimming in the sea. Suddenly, he stopped moving. And we jumped into the sea to rescue the man,” said one of the boys.
