Suspect detained after threatening bomb attack in front of ruling AKP headquarters
ANKARA
A suspect has been detained after police received an anonymous call about a possible suicide bomb attack in front of the ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) headquarters in Ankara, daily Hürriyet reported today.
Police intensified security measures in the area after being alerted by a phone call in which a man said he would detonate himself in front of the building.
A man, identified as H.U., was detained when police found him near the building.
It was reported that H.U. confessed that he had called police with the threat.
An investigation has been launched into the incident, while the suspect was taken to the anti-terror branch for questioning.
