Subreal exhibit screenings
Gusztáv Hámos’s “1989: The Real Power of TV” and Harun Farocki and Andrei Ujică’s “Videograms of a Revolution” will be screened today at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, as part of the exhibition subREAL. Hamos’s video work deals with media censorship during Communist-era Hungary. “Videograms of a Revolution” is a documentary film about the revolution in Romania in December 1989 and compiles amateur footage, news footage and excerpts from the Bucarest TV studio overtaken by demonstrators as part of the revolution. “1989: The Real Power of TV,” by Gusztáv Hámos will be screened in English and Hungarian and “Videograms of a Revolution” by Harun Farocki and Andrei Ujică will be screened in English and Romanian (with English subtitles).
