ANKARA - Anadolu Agency
Dozens of Libyan students raided their country’s embassy in Ankara on Dec. 22, clashing with embassy staff and security guards. Some 100 students raided the embassy, claiming they have not been paid their scholarships. Police officers eventually dispersed the students from the embassy.
One of the students, Münir Abdüsselam, said they could not receive grants for November and December, and complained that they could cover neither university expenses, nor housing and health expenses.
The embassy did not state a reason for declining to pay the grants, Abdüsselam said.
