Stamps for women on sale

The Turkish postal service, the PTT, has prepared permanent stamps in honor of International Women’s Day March 8. The stamps, prepared around the theme “providing equality of opportunity for men and women in Turkey,” go on sale today.According to a written statement made by the PTT, the stamps have been prepared within the scope of a campaign titled “Be with me for a More Just World” and have images from the campaign.
The postal service will sell 15 million stamps with three different images to prevent violence against women, raise social awareness and increase interest in the campaign, the statement said. In honor of the seventh International Marmaris Women and Arts Festival, which started yesterday and will continue until March 28, the PTT has prepared stamps with the phrase “The 7th International Marmaris Women and Art Festival 08-10.03-2012 MARMARİS,” which will be used between March 8 and 10.
One hundred stamps were delivered to the festival organization committee yesterday.
