Soldier killed in explosion in Turkey’s east One soldier was killed due to the detonation of a bomb by outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants at the 30th kilometer of the Hakkari-Van highway on Oct. 16, Doğan News Agency has reported.

The blast occurred during an operation to search for mines in the area.

Security forces subsequently launched an operation to apprehend the PKK militants.
