Six injured in flash floods in Turkish capital Ankara
ANKARA
Flooding in capital Ankara following afternoon rains injured at least six people, according to provincial governor on May 5.
"Six people has been injured, but their health condition is not serious," Mustafa Tuna said, also adding that "a natural disaster like never before happened."
Heavy rainfall in Ankara's Mamak district caused the flooding, which also swept away cars and large trash cans along the streets.
Shops and basement floors of buildings were seen as left under water in footage provided from the scene which was exposed as hectic.
Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım was briefed by the governor on the situation, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
