Shots fired across Syrian border into Turkey

Machine guns reportedly opened fire from the Syrian side of the Turkey-Syria border in the Yayladağı district of southeastern Hatay province on Dec. 16, targeting a military station.A total of 20 gunshots were reportedly fired from Acısı village of Syria’s Kesab province, which is under the control of forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, into the military station zone. No casualties were reported, as Turkish soldiers responded to the attack within the rules of engagement.
