A total of seven security personnel were slightly injured on April 22 in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) bomb attack in the Nusaybin district of the southeastern province of Mardin.

PKK militants detonated a hand-made explosive during the ongoing security forces operation in the district. Five soldiers and two police officers were wounded in the attack. The wounded security personnel were immediately taken to Nusaybin State Hospital but were reported to be in good condition.

Meanwhile, security forces continued to remove barricades filled with explosives placed by PKK militants in various neighborhoods.

Gunfire and explosions have been heard in the areas where operations have been intensified against militants.

A curfew has been underway in the district since March 14 as security forces operations against the PKK militants continue.
