Serbian, Turkish lawmakers to play football match

Serbian and Turkish lawmakers will play a football match in Turkey's southern Antalya province, Turkish sports minister said on May 24.
Turkey's Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, who is on a visit to Serbia's capital Belgrade, met his Serbian counterpart Vanja Udovicic on May 24 and agreed to hold a friendly football match between parliamentarians of the two countries.
The ministers later join the meeting between the sport federations of the two countries. During the meeting former Turkish football player Saffet Sancaklı, who is currently a lawmaker, suggested a match between the two countries' parliaments.
While the suggestion was accepted by Serbian Minister and the delegation, Turkish Minister Kasapoğlu invited Serbian side to Antalya to play the match.
During the visit, Kasapoğlu attended the 2nd Serbian International Sports Medicine Conference before official talks with his Serbian counterpart.
Addressing the media, the Turkish minister said that Serbia, a country dominated by sports culture, is an “important partner” of Turkey.
The Serbian minister, for his part, said that they exchanged ideas on future projects for the benefit of both sides.
