Şenay Lambaoğlu to represent Turkey in Senegal
ISTANBUL
Turkish singer Şenay Lambaoğlu, who recently released her new album “Başka Türlü Birşey” (Something Different), will represent Turkey at the 24th International Saint-Louis Jazz Festival, to start on May 12 in Senegal.As the only Turkish artist in the festival, Lambaoğlu will perform songs from her latest album, including lyrics from classic poets such as Can Yücel, Nazım Hikmet, Ömer Khayyam and Forough Farrokhzad.
Lambaoğlu will be accompanied by Volkan Polat on guitar, Barış Ertürk on saxophone, Volkan Topakoğlu on counter bass and Erdem Göymen on the drums while performing in Senegal.
The festival, which will continue until May 15, will present jazz songs from artists from all around the world. The closing concert of the event will be performed by American jazz composer Marcus Miller.
