Selen Gülün plays for Salon audience
Jazz pianist and composer Selen Gülün is taking the stage at Salon Feb. 19. In 1996, she received a talent scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music, where she formed the quintet Just About Jazz that continues to perform her own original compositions on the international circuit. She performed with the quintet in the United States, Germany and Turkey. Her totally improvisational, self-titled solo album was released in 2009. She has received many awards for her performances and compositions including the Charles Mingus Composition Award and the British Council Visiting Arts, Creative Collaboration in Music 2003. Including electronic music elements, her latest album will be released in February 2013. İmer Demirer, Cengiz Baysal, Ediz Hafızoğlu, Demirhan Baylan, Ozan Musluoğlu, Tamer Temel, Serhan Erkol and Cenk Erdoğan have collaborated with Gülün for the album.
