Security teams on high alert in Istanbul after Ankara bomb attack

Security teams in Istanbul have stepped up measures following the Feb. 17 car bomb attack in Ankara that killed at least 28 people.Security personnel at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport have been searching with bomb detectors any suspicious cars or people entering the airport.
Airport police have also been conducting detailed criminal record checks and samples taken from passengers against the potential of explosive chemicals, while identity checks have been carried out against suspected passengers coming to the airport from the subway.
Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin also said security measures have been raised to their highest level in the city.
