Road transport slow in February

The number of both transit documents and International Road Transport Convention (TIR) carnets decreased in the month of February, compared to the same month last year, according to international road transportation data released by the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodities Exchanges (TOBB).The number of transit documents dropped 6.72 percent to 67,126 last month from 71,692 in February 2011. As for TIR carnets, the figure decreased 1.06 percent to 53,262 from 54,262 in February 2011.
The same figures also decreased last month by 11.13 percent and 2.84 percent respectively. This data is compiled by TOBB and the Directorate of Trade and TIR.
