Redhack takes down Turkish Interior Ministry website

The ministry's webpage after it was hacked.

The Socialist "RedHack" group took down the documents section of the Turkish Interior Ministry website today, downloading all documents on the ministry's file system.
 
The ministry website's usual contents were replaced by a photo-montage of Interior Minister İdris Naim Şahin standing next to the Guy Fawkes mask-wearing character "V" from the movie "'V' for Vendetta."
 
The slogan "Red resistance against the imam's green army," was written under the picture. 
 
Above the picture was the question "Do you love us?" written in an apparent protest against Şahin, who forced an old man to dance last week to prove that he loved the minister after the man, a villager in the eastern province of Erzurum, told Şahin he was very happy to see him and that he loved him.
 
A message was also placed on the website that read: "It is now your turn to dance, İdris! If you are buying yachts and houses with our taxes, then you should prove to us that you love us."
 
The message continued with a warning from RedHack to Şahin saying that they had downloaded all the files in the ministry's systems and would release them if "the minister kept jailing innocent people on charges of being a RedHack member."
 
The message accused the staff of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) of teaming up with imperialist powers to create the "Green Belt" in the 1980s, spreading ignorance and trying to establish a rule based on fear in today's Turkey. The message concluded that the RedHack would not be deterred from its goal of "revolution."
 
The police and judiciary targeted RedHack after the group hacked into Ankara police's servers in February and downloaded secret police files. It was revealed through this incident that the Turkish police was using the number sequence "123456" to save secret documents.
