Professional chamber objects to court ruling
ANKARA - Anatolia News Agency
A higher court ruling aimed at moving mobile phone base stations out of urban areas is not an exact solution, according to a written statement by the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO) as higher radiation bases, which will be even more dangerous for the environment, will be set up.A higher court has ruled to move those bases out of towns as they pose a threat to human health because of the electromagnetic contamination they cause. But the chamber claims that the ruling has complicated the problem technically even more.
An obligation to utilize common base stations should be imposed on the mobile phone operators and campaigns stimulating unnecessary phone use should be prevented instead, according to the chamber.
