Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli has said he keeps records of what the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is doing and he will demand justice for the government’s wrongdoings when his party comes to power following the June 7 general elections.“I will question whatever was done while the AKP government was in power,” Bahçeli told a group of journalists during his visit to Afyonkarahisar, a province in Turkey’s Aegean region.
Commenting on the presidential post when the MHP comes to power, Bahçeli said all policies implemented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan since Aug.10, 2014, when he was elected as the 12th president of the country, and his visits abroad would be looked at thoroughly.
“Where and why did he take visits abroad? What was the cost of each of his visits to the state budget? How much was the overall traveling allowance he was granted? How much have the national interests been protected in these meetings? All of these need to be investigated one-by-one,” said Bahçeli. “Those visits will be investigated.”
Bahçeli also warned Erdoğan to watch his step, as the applause he received during his rise to power would not be there during a possible fall.
