PM Erdoğan will attend London Games ceremony
ANKARA
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay a three-day official visit to the U.K. in late July, officials from the prime minister’s office have said.The visit will take place July 26-28 and was arranged upon an invitation from Erdoğan’s British counterpart, Prime Minister David Cameron, to attend the opening ceremony of the upcoming London Olympics. Erdoğan accepted the invitation, and the visit was apparently later turned into a longer official visit.
In addition to holding official bilateral talks with Cameron and attending the opening ceremony of the Olympics, Erdoğan will also participate in a reception to be hosted by Queen Elizabeth, officials from Erdoğan’s office told the Anatolia news agency late on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu will also pay a visit to the U.K. on July 14 to deliver an annual lecture at the Ditchley Foundation.
