PM Erdoğan holds surprise meeting at his home with Intelligence Chief and Justice Minister

Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan held an unscheduled meeting with National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Chief Hakan Fidan and Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin at his home in Istanbul on March. 15. 
 
Having publicly declared that he was taking a rest for a few days following a short examination at an Ankara hospital on March. 12, Erdoğan canceled the whole of his official program for the rest of the week and later moved to Istanbul to rest. 
Fidan met with Erdoğan around 7 p.m., and was joined by Ergin an hour later, according to Doğan News Agency. The meeting lasted until 9.30 p.m.
 
The surprise visit of Fidan and Ergin came amid preparations for the visit of a third parliamentary delegation to the jailed leader of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Abdullah Öcalan. It is expected that the third delegation will deliver responses to Öcalan’s previous letters from the PKK’s senior leaders based in the Kandil Mountains of northern Iraq and the European branch of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), the alleged urban wing of the PKK.
 
According to reports, the three discussed the ongoing peace process; the upcoming Nevruz festival on March 21, when Öcalan is expected to make a call for a cease-fire; and the participants of the third parliamentary delegation that the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) will send to visit Öcalan in İmralı island prison.
