A platform used to cover a cavity during repair work at a
metrobus stop in Istanbul collapsed yesterday, daily Milliyet reported.
A new stop, which was built after construction began on the main Avcılar stop, went into service before all the work had been completed.
The platform covering a two-meter hole collapsed due to the passengers’ weight, according to reports.
People fell into the hollow but were rescued by other passengers.
No injures were reported.
