Vibrant-colored parrots of Antalya Zoo captivate onlookers

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Zoo and Nature Park, one of Turkey’s largest zoos with its vast natural habitats, is home to 185 parrots of 15 distinct species. .
The zoo, which hosted nearly 400,000 visitors last year despite the COVID-19 pandemic, is going through a most peaceful period following the measures taken against the virus
In the zoo, where around 1,500 animals of 135 species take shelter, parrots attract attention the most with their imitating sounds and colorful feathers.
In addition to the ones taken from different zoos, parrots brought to the country illegally or seized by relevant institutions due to the absence of a legal certificate, find a warm home at the zoo.
A special habitat has been created for 185 parrots of 15 species such as Cockatiel, Ara and Conure in the zoo. There are species of parrots belonging to Pakistan as well in the zoo.
Parrots living in a one-acre natural environment instead of cages draw great attention of visitors.
