Turkish doctors become social media influencers

As Turkey’s medical tourism flourishes, many doctors create their own personal brands on social media. Like Dr. Cahit Dinçer, from a hospital in Adana.
Dr. Dinçer won the southern Turkish city's male models contest in 2014.
Each of around two dozen Turkish doctors has more than 10,000 followers on social media platforms. For instance, Dr. Ali Duman, a plastic surgery expert in Istanbul, has 40,000 followers on Instagram.
Some of the these doctors reach millions with their posts. Dr. Ahmet Coşkun is not only an influencer on social media, but also a pediatrics expert. His looks are likened to Turkish TV series star Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ.
Many of them share their photos from their hospitals, some with patients, and interact with them online. This is Dr. Fatih Necip Aracı, who works as an internal medicine expert at Adana City Hospital.
Some others even pose in studios or share the photos they shoot while living the good life, traveling or partying, like Dr. Salih Tümtaş from Dumlupınar University Hospital in Kütahya.
Dr. Tümtaş is also a travel blogger who tours Turkey with his SUV.
The Instagram account of Dr. Taha Takmaz, a gynecologist at Bezmialem University Hospital in Istanbul, are flooded with comments from women fans, including that they “want to give birth as soon as possible.”

Dr. Hakan Tüfekçi has more than 40,000 followers on Instagram.
Dr. Levent Gürkan is a urology expert in Istanbul.
Dr. Erkan Akıllı is a dentist with some 40,000 followers.
Dr. Cem Karas is the chief physician and a cosmetic surgery expert in İzmir.
Dr. Mustafa Kemal Ataönder is known for his famous patients.
Dr. Emre Uzun works at Istanbul Okmeydanı State Hospital.
Dr. Yücel Özkan is a dentist and implant expert in Adana.
Dr. Güray Öztürk is another dental expert
Op. Dr. Bora Coşkun is from Ankara Gülhane State University Hospital.
Dr. Çağrı Türker, with over 88,000 Instagram followers, is an eye expert.
Dr. İbrahim Şahin is from Kocaeli Derince State Hospital.
Dr. Mahir Kılınç is from Karadeniz Technical University’s Farabi Hospital.
