Street lamp falls on unlucky passerby in Istanbul
A street lamp has fallen on the head of a passerby in Istanbul, injuring the man.
Menderes Yıldırım was hit by a street lamp in Istanbul's Kadıköy district on Sept. 22.
The man was hospitalized by other passersby.
"Other lamps on street light poles here are also teetering. They can also fall," one witness told Demirören News Agency.
Yıldırım was discharged from the hospital with a minor injury the same day. He told the journalists that he was walking on the pavement when the street lamp hit his head.
"I feel good now but I will be under supervision for eight hours [for possible concussion]," he added, calling on authorities to take urgent precautions against similar incidents.
