Parts of Ragıp Gümüşpala Avenue in the Eminönü neighborhood have been separated with an increasingly stronger and higher metal barrier, but passersby insist on punching holes in it, instead of walking an extra 150 meters to a nearby underpass.
One citizen had been killed by an incoming truck when he used the “death pass” in October 2010.
