Turkey has gotten used to news about flash floods hitting northern and southern regions amid torrential rains.
The most recent one was in the Black Sea province of Ordu, which affected some 10,000 people, killing one and causing a damage of 165 million Turkish Liras ($27.1 million).
However, a different kind of flood hit Adana’s Sarıçam district on Aug. 15, when an irrigation canal overflowed, flooding a nearby road.
Several people were rescued by firefighters after they were stuck in their cars amid the flood.
Turkish authorities said the cause of the flood was not yet known but was being investigated.
