Excavation works to continue throughout 2021 in ancient city of Antandros
The ongoing excavation works in the ancient city of Antandros are being planned to continue throughout the year, according to the archeology team carrying out the works. (AA Photo)
Research that discovered the ancient city started in the mid-19th century when a written statement, which mentioned the name of Antandros, was found on a wall of a mosque in the Avcılar village.
It was then discovered that Antandros was located on the Kaletasi hill, 215 meters above sea level.
