Ceremonial Hall, the most spectacular room of Dolmabahçe
Dolmabahçe Palace has been astonishing visitors with its stunning architecture and breathtaking designs but the most astounding room it houses is the Ceremonial Hall.
The 2,000-square-meter Ceremonial Hall witnessed the most unforgettable moments in the late years of the Ottoman Empire.
One of the most striking features of the hall is its magnificent chandelier bejeweled with precious crystals, weighing around 4.5 tons.
The hall’s dome is about 36 meters high and is embellished with an artistic synthesis of Europe and Asia. Its walls, embossed with fine craftsmanship, enchants both domestic and foreign tourists.
Ceremonial Hall also has four box seats in the upper story where special guests were hosted during holiday seasons.
But one box seat always remains vacant, since it is right on top of the Sultan’s throne.
