Butterfly garden in Central Anatolia draws 1.5 mln visitors in 5 years
The Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden is the only place in Turkey where one can observe every phase of metamorphosis, from small larvae to colorful butterflies.
The butterfly garden in the Central Anatolian province of Konya features Europe’s largest butterfly flight zone.
The garden, which is about 1,600 square meters in size, is habitat to some 12,000 butterflies and 20,000 tropical plants.
Some 15 species of butterflies maintain their vivid lives thanks to the 98 species of tropical plants. Out of this 98 plant species, 50 of them can only be seen in the tropical garden.
Konya’s butterfly garden gathers much attention both from domestic and foreign tourists, as the visitors and their children can have the time of their lives among thousands of multi-hued butterflies.
Since its opening in 2015, the tropical garden has attracted over 1.5 million visitors. In the first eight months of 2019, more than 270,000 tourists have visited the garden.
