Arab women’s street fight halted by Istanbul police
A fight between two Arab women in central Istanbul has been halted by the police after local shopkeepers failed to stop it as bottles flew around. Click through for the story in photos...
The fight, with an unknown reason, erupted between two Arab tourists in the Beyoğlu district early Aug. 18, Demirören News Agency reported.
Soon other people, including passersby, shopkeepers and male friends of the women, intervened.
One man was injured when a glass bottle broke on his hand, while one of the women suffered from a hand injury.
Security forces who arrived the scene detained multiple suspects from both sides, while the injured woman was taken by an ambulance to be sent to a nearby hospital.
Police launched an investigation into the incident, the report said.
