Over 3,500 illegal migrants held across Turkey

More than 3,500 migrants were held Nov. 27 across Turkey while attempting to illegally cross the country’s land borders, the military said on Nov. 28.
Border troops caught a total of 3,388 migrants attempting to cross into Turkey from Syria on Nov. 27, according to a statement from the Turkish General Staff.
Nineteen others were held while they were trying to cross into Syria, the statement said.
Additionally, 84 migrants were held while trying to illegally travel to Greece from Turkey in addition to seven others who tried to cross the border from Iran.
Border troops also held 24 migrants attempting to illegally enter Bulgaria from Turkey.
