Opposition files complaint about real estate fraud
ISTANBUL - Anatolia News Agency
A group of main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) lawmakers, including deputy leader Gürsel Tekin, has filed a legal complaint about Interior Minister Muammer Güler, Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbaş and some former politicians, claiming that large-scale fraud was going on in the city’s real estate sector.Yesterday’s complaint also covered Esenyurt Mayor Necmi Kadıoğlu and some municipal employees in the district, where large residential projects continue.
‘Organized fraud’ map
“I have sent Mr. Prime Minister [Recep Tayyip Erdoğan] a map of organized fraud in Istanbul,” Tekin said, before submitting the complaint to an Istanbul prosecutor. “He is a former mayor. If he spares time to look at that map he will witness that Istanbul residents are facing real estate fraud that is handled by a gang, a first in the Republic’s history,” he said.
