One Turkish soldier killed in Turkey’s east

A soldier has been killed during a counter-terrorism operation in southeastern Turkey, a military official said on Dec. 11.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said the security forces had been running a counter-terror operation in the Şırnak province.
During the operations, Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants detonated explosives injuring the Turkish soldier.
The soldier was rushed to Şırnak State Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds, sources said.
Anti-terror operations are ongoing in the region, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
