One soldier killed in PKK attack in Turkey’s southeast

One soldier was killed on April 28 in clashes with outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern province of Şırnak.One first lieutenant was wounded when PKK militants opened fire on security forces in the Gazipaşa neighborhood. The soldier was taken to the Şırnak Military Hospital in an armored ambulance but later succumbed to his injuries.
Security forces’ operations in the province, which began on March 14, are ongoing.
