One soldier killed in Cizre amid curfew
A soldier has been killed in clashes between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in Turkey’s southeastern province of Şırnak, daily Hürriyet has reported.
A soldier, identified as a specialized sergeant, was killed in clashes as a military-imposed curfew entered its fifth day in Şırnak’s Cizre district.
The state-run Anadolu Agency reported early on Dec. 18 that 55 PKK militants have been killed over the past three days, while 19 members of the security forces have been wounded.
