One killed in an armed attack on Istanbul association

An armed attack on an association in Istanbul’s Eyüp district killed one and wounded three people on Feb. 2.The attack occurred at a center of the “Great Ottoman Social Aid and Education Association” in the Yeşilpınar neighborhood of Eyüp late on Feb. 2.
Masked armed attackers fired at the club with a long barrel gun and a hand gun, injuring four people. İsmail Bayram, 31, later succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital.
Two other injured men, Fatih Fırat and Hüseyin Sözer, were taken to the Gaziosmanpaşa Taksim Training and Research Hospital, while the other was given first aid by emergency response teams.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident, supported by air units.
Undercover police officers were already at the association during the attack as part of security measures taken as it had previously received threats. The police officers exchanged fire with the assailants during the attack.
