One killed as curfew declared in southeastern district

One man was killed late on Nov. 3 during clashes between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in the province of Diyarbakır’s Silvan district, where a curfew had been declared.The man, identified as Müslüm Tayyar, 22, was killed during the security forces’ operation after a curfew was declared starting from 5 a.m. in three Silvan neighborhoods, where trenches had been dug by PKK militants.
Sporadic clashes are ongoing, with gunfire and explosions heard in the neighborhoods where the curfew is still in place.
