OFFF Istanbul hosts world-famous names at a digital festival

OFFF, which is organized by Kurye Video Org., is an entity in continuous transformation and is alive and evolutionary. It was born as a post-digital culture festival, becoming a meeting place to host contemporary creations.
FFF, an international digital festival that has taken place in Paris, New York, Lisbon and Madrid, will take place in Istanbul this year at the Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi (YEM) in Şişli’s Fulya neighborhood.OFFF, which is organized by Kurye Video Org., is an entity in continuous transformation and is alive and evolutionary.
More than a decade ago, it was born as a post-digital culture festival, becoming a meeting place to host contemporary creations through an in-depth program of conferences, workshops and performances by the most relevant artists.
The event has also produced an extensive international network of artists, developers, theorists and, more importantly, people who love art in all its multiple expressions: students, fans, professionals and the curious. The event is for people who want to show what they do, discover what others do and, above all, share their knowledge and their desires to inspire and be inspired.
Turkish artists, directors, designers, web designers, advertisement companies are all set to gather for the festival.
The festival will host D+AD’s second president, Neville Brody; Joshua Davis; The Mill advertisement company; Agency Hi-Res!; the Hellohikimori web design company from France; Turkish graphic designer Esen Karol, as well as Barcelona-based graphics company Vasava.
OFFF will also celebrate the 400th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the Netherlands by hosting post-production studio Onesize and Falk&Sun’s from the Netherlands. Additionally, the OFFF network includes a teaching center, OFFF Atelier, a continuous presence in the web 2.0 and a permanent group of artists, organizers and producers ready to host OFFF events wherever they are in demand.
OFFF will further create a platform to share experiences. While Brody will share his experiences in graphic design, he will also relate his experiences from movies such as, “Ocean’s Eleven,” “Ocean’s Twelve” and “Public Enemies.”
Davis, who is known as the king of Flash design, will come for OFFF having previously come to Istanbul for the Kurye Vide Festival. He is known for his exclusive BMW car designs and corporate identity works.
Cinema and television world at OFFF
The OFFF festival will give its spectators the chance to meet with agencies and designers, including The Mill, which is famous for the awards that it received at the Baftas and Cannes Lions. The Mill will share its company experiences in TV series such as, “Sherlock,” “Merlin,” “Primeval” and “Misfits.” The company also works for Björk, Kasabian and James Blunt.
Another agency, Hi-Res!, which is known for its work on series such as “Ugly Betty” and “Six Feet Under” will also be at the festival. The company will discuss its work and the websites it created for movies such as “The Fountain,” “Requiem for a Dream,” “Dreamers” and “Saw.”
The festival, which begins today and will run until March 3, will host seminars, as well as ateliers where each designer will make an hour-long presentation. The opening party and parallel events will also be a part of the festival.
Combined tickets include the opening party and all the presentations at the festival.
