"I see nothing wrong with sharing our archives with historians and scientists, and allowing everyone to read these," Turkish President Abdullah Gül said on Dersim killings, during a worldwide interview session of the video-sharing website YouTube.
The interview consisted of questions submitted by users from all around the world, out of which President Gül responded to a few.
The Dersim killings became one of the focal points of the session. One user asked Gül his view on revealing military archives.
"I studied this back at school as well," Gül responded. "Obviously our history is a great one, but within that history there are good days, and bad ones."
"Dersim is a sad incident that won't live up to the human rights standards of our days."
President Gül further stated that great states didn't "fear their history."
