NORWEGIAN TRUMPETER IN TOWN

Norwegian avant-garde jazz trumpeter and composer Nils Petter Molvaer is giving a concert Jan. 21 at Salon İKSV.The performance kicks off at 10 p.m. and tickets are available at Biletix booths. Molvaer is considered a pioneer in fusing jazz and electronic music, as showcased by his best-selling album “Khmer,” released by the German record label ECM in October 1997 in Europe and early 1998 in North America. In 2000, a second album “Solid Ether” followed, after which Molvaer left ECM. He has recorded several albums since and has produced music for film as well as theater.
