Norwegian Eurovision winner takes Alanya stage

Norwegian Alexander Rybak, who won the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest for his song “Fairytale,” performed a concert on April 13 in the southern province of Antalya’s Alanya district to improve communications with foreigners living there and help the families of deceased soldiers. The concert was organized for the 168th anniversary of the local police department and as part of a project titled “They Are Our Citizens” carried out by the Antalya Police Department.Before the concert, foreign residents gave shows and entertained the audience. Then Rybak took the stage with four dancers from Lithuania for a two-hour concert.
The chief of the police department, Erkan Dur, who also attended the concert, said they had wanted to organize a different event for the 168th anniversary of the police department and hired a Dutch artist last year.
