Nine PKK militants killed in air operation in Turkey’s southeast

A total of nine outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants were killed on Feb. 24 in the İdil district of the southeastern province of Şırnak during an air operation.A group of PKK militants who were trying to penetrate the district’s center were targeted in an air operation conducted by cobra helicopters. According to initial reports, nine PKK militants were killed in the operation.
Operations in the curfew-declared district have been ongoing along with the participation of around 4,000 policemen, gendarmerie and special operations teams.
