Rival candidates’ promises to hire more municipal workers should be questioned because new jobs need the permission of the Interior Ministry, Erdoğan told an election rally in the northern city of Ordu, the newspaper said. "You need to be strong locally and strong at the center -- the stronger you are the better the services," Erdogan said, according to Hürriyet. Nationwide municipal elections are set to be held March 29.Erdoğan also said that banks and employers are exaggerating the impact of the economic crisis in order to force the government to agree new loans from the International Monetary Fund, according to Hürriyet.
